Intentions

I have been attending sunday school lessons, looking into C.S Lewis' content in Mere Christianity.
Today we were talking about what makes things wrong or right.

It was also brought up that good deeds should be done even though it may be inconvenient because a Christian should be "prepared" to do good works.

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good (Titus 3:1)

Yea...and there's also Ephesians 2:10 (which I recently read)

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)

It was also brought up that intentions play a part in determining whether an act is something you should be very bothered with or not. (i.e someone trips you but accidentally. Another trips you intentionally but failed.)

There was a call to prepare our intentions so what we may do all things with the right intentions.
The first bible verse which came to my mind was

Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain. (Psalm 119:36)

And the reason we need to prepare and do things with the right intentions is that God knows them.

A person may think their own ways are right,
but the Lord weighs the heart. (Proverbs 21:2)
