1) tell what you currently regularly seek in life.
2) asses how shallow you are / how bad your appetite for God is

Coming to terms with your shallowness will be the next step and for some it will be a difficult one. Why? Because we may not know ourselves as shallow beings to begin with. We (unknowingly) deceive ourselves to think we are better than who we really are. And from the bible it seems that it is the pride of our heart which deceives us.


The pride of your heart has deceived you,
    you who live in the clefts of the rocks
    and make your home on the heights,
you who say to yourself,
    ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’ 
Though you soar like the eagle
    and make your nest among the stars,
    from there I will bring you down,” 
declares the Lord. [Obadiah 1:3-4]



May the grace of God reveal and shatter our pride that we may come to be His humble servants, serving Him alone and satisfied by Him alone.
