Finger pointing and a tit-for-tat

There is just something ugly about this world.
It's not that much about the bad things that happen everyday but just certain human behaviors.







Given that things goes wrong and bring about disastrous results, affected people will find it rational to look for the one responsible. It does help when the culprit is known. But when they don't have an idea, they start pointing fingers and finding scapegoat(s), instead of channeling their energies to resolve the adverse situation.

An apt example will be the current currency wars. The lack of communication made nash equilibrium realize. Once one side take actions based on their own interest(s) and fail to consider the cost incurred on others you can expect a retailiation from some of the others. 你做初一, 我做十五. A tug-of-war. A tit-for-tat battle. One depreciates its' currency and another follows and the undercutting goes on. So, what kind of outcome do you see? Like what the Straits Times newspaper said today, "there is no winner". And since there is no winner, is this fight still worth it? Are there benefits? Are there costs?

It is to a man's honor to avoid strife,
