THE Living Hope

This week Person A is in a hospital. Several people are concerned about Person A. They certainly wish that he will recover from his illness. Some spoke of how terrible a group of people are to this Person A. Some expressed that they will want him to live and recognized him as someone who has contributed a lot to the masses.

It is perfectly fine to want a nice and wise person to live longer. But it struck me that others might have seen Person A as a living hope, someone who can the weight of bear their hopes and dreams. It reminded me that no one will be able to bear an the weight of our hopes and dreams. We will only be in for disappointment if that we expected a person to do so. This is a reminder to me, that only one figure can bear our hopes, dreams and even our burdens. He is THE living hope and there is no other.

According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead ... (1 Peter 1:3)
