Follow through

Today I was tasked to do something seemingly simple but actually challenging: drawing long, straight, parallel lines freehandedly with a paint marker, on a piece of talc which is 1.2m long and 0.8m wide.

I was reluctant to do it, because I know my freehand drawing is poor. (crap)
Then, my superior said something.
'Daniel, just follow through...You need to practice...practice makes perfect.'

What came to my mind next was the lyrics of 'The Altar and the Door' by Casting Crowns.

As I was drawing those lines, I thought about how my life required this 'follow through'. This 'follow through' , this consistency in my actions <- my actions based on my beliefs <- my beliefs on what God shown me to be right. It's a demanding task but I know that God's grace is sufficient for me even as I face my weaknesses. And if I am sure that if I keep practicing His values and virtues, I will become more like Christ and that He will be glorified everyday, every moment.

Lord, may your will be done, instead on mine.
