God's blessings come with obedience and we need to be careful to follow his commands. In our lifetime, he will put us in several circumstances 'to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands' and ultimately, 'to do you good in the end'.
When we attained certain achievements, do not forget the Lord. Otherwise 'your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God'. As we become more capable in work and increase in wealth , let us acknowledge that the power and might is from God.
The Israelites were able to claim their promised land not because they are any better than their enemies on Earth but because the Lord is faithful and will always carry out His plans. Similarly, eternal life is given to us not because we Christians are not in anyway more righteous than others, but because the Lord bestows His grace to us, allowed us to see our sinful nature and also given us faith to trust in Him, all of Him.
May you all be humbled by the truth.
