Help us not to grumble

As I did my QT this period, God spoke to me through his Word. An issue that was repeatedly brought up was grumbling. From what I have read, there is at least 3 cases when the Israelites grumbled. Once on the journey to Sinai(ard Exodus 16:1-17:7), second time during the final journey to Canaan (ard Numbers 10-11:15) and one more time after Arad was destroyed(Numbers 21).

So,When and why do we grumble?
When we are placed in difficult or unpleasant situations and we don't understand how God is working in our lives.

Unfortunately or fortunately, life is a journey where you will be placed in difficult or unpleasant situations. It is also a journey where your faith and patience are put into test.

Putting myself in the Israelites' shoes, I know 40 years of outfield is no joke. It's simply crazy to pack 40 years of ration and water. But how are things like at our time? Let us take some time to examine ourselves.

Perhaps there were moments where we got too comfortable with what we've had. (Hence we are also caught unprepared for the tougher times). From things like chicken wings to your air-con room, we know that God gave them to us. And when he takes it away, we grumble. And when it seems that he is not providing for us, we grumble.

But in times like these, all the more we need to trust in the Lord.
We can
- pray with faith for help/deliverance
- learn grow as we experience the ups and downs of life
- see the glory of God
Last but not least, be thankful for whatever you have.

Jehovah Jireh - The Lord will provide what we need when we need it, in his time. =)
