Today's sunday school lesson was helpful. It placed me in a frame to look at things and wonder if some of my churchmates (including me) have been serving the Lord in a God-glorifying manner, especially after a recent happening activity came to an end.
Spiritual leadership is different from the world's leadership.
- The world's leadership tend to view things in an event-driven manner. People come up with schemes and judge one another based on external factors (e.g. appearance)
- The spiritual leadership focus on the lives of the people. It values love and love is its core. It seeks to build character, looking beyond the exterior of men.
This stark contrast hit me hard. I wonder how the lives of juniors were affected by the certain way we lead them and get them to move. While their character can be build in one way or another, the emotional wounds afflicted will take time to heal. Maybe things are not as bad as I thought but still, at the end of the day, we will have to face the music and answer to the boss who knows what went wrong there.
I can't agree more, that love is needed - to move on, to face the multitude of sins.
"Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins."
- 1 Peter 4:8
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
