Into Advent

With exams out of the way, I thank God that I have some time to recall and ponder over some of the content read during my church's Advent Service last Sunday.

My chuch sung (or recited) Isaiah 40:3.

"...prepare the way for the Lord..."

And the questions came.

- How is this verse/passage in line with Advent?

- Isn't preparing the way for the Lord John the Baptist's job?

- What exactly is John the Baptist supposed to do?

- What has that got to do with me?

I won't be answering those here but I encourage you to think about these questions too.
