I was reminded of the supreme goodness of God. Jesus Christ was sent to accomplish something that needed doing. He came to remedy the fall. He came to rescue sinners from inevitable destruction because of their sin. These rescued ones will see and savor and display the glory of God with everlasting joy. When he died for sinners, Christ revealed the love and righteousness of the Father supremely. This was the apex of the revelation of the glory of God—the glory of his grace.
Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father.Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.(John 13:1b)
(Jesus) humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross!(Philippians 2:8b)
Also, I was reminded that everything that the Lord gives is good. This includes the holy sacrifice, the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. A netizen actually mentioned that what Jesus did on the cross many many years ago was 'good' for it was God's provision for those who are 'not'.
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32)
