Thoughts this thursday

- Like the lamb's blood for the passover, His blood rescued us for the death/judgement to come.

- Did He not go into the wilderness and fasted for 40 days, to identify himself with the people of Israel, (in fufilling the law, be the Moses who is able) to bring us from the "new Egypt" to the "new Promised Land"?

- Why would Jesus wash the very feet which will be used to depart from Him? He forgave their sin before they even committed it. He offered mercy before they even sought it.

- During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 5:7-10)
