Certain insects caught my attention: the ignorant cicadas and the naive flies.
Cicadas have this tendency to fly into a working fan. Cicadas were tricked to thinking that the rotating blades are like another cicada's wings. The end result is that they have one part of their body in the fan and another on the floor.
When you put a pail of water which reflects light, flies dive into them. Flies were led to the wrong source of light.
They are plain stupid, aren't they? But don't men behave like this too? Many a times, we ourselves are tricked by the world to pursue a certain thing in life and we don't realise what the consequences are until they happen. Ultimately, we have to be aware that the world seeks happiness and success in perishables and going in that direction is like heading towards an illusion which brings nothing but death and judgement. And the Lord is the judge.
There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. (Proverbs 16:25 )
