Discipline. One of the seven core values of the SAF.
When we do something terribly wrong, the commanders say 'knock it down'!
And it comes along with seemingly endless 'down's.
'You think we like to punish you is it?'
Er...i hope not. Haha.
When we do something wrong, we deserve punishment. SISPEC has discipline standards, and i suppose God does not expect any lesser discipline from us. 'God discipline us for our own good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been train by it' (Heb 12:10b-11).
He punishes everyone he accepts as a son. He disciplines those he loves.
That makes him MY HEAVENLY FATHER.
